The North Fork Mosquito Abatement District uses an integrated mosquito management approach to control mosquitoes that is focused on the immature stages of the mosquito life cycle. In the event of high adult mosquito abundance and/or the detection of mosquito-borne diseases, such as West Nile virus, the District will implement control measures to suppress adult mosquito populations and/or to suppress the potential for disease transmission.
If weather conditions are not favorable, or if there are operational delays, the treatment may be postponed or delayed.
